Virgin releases 'Flying Without Fear' book

Virgin releases Flying Without Fear book For some people the thought of getting in an aeroplane is filled with dread, so Virgin Atlantic has released a book designed to combat fear of flying.

The long-haul operator recently created a course called Flying Without Fear (FWF) for people who struggle with airline travel.

This has now been expanded into a new book called Flying Without Fear, 101 Fear of Flying Questions Answered that offers guidance on flying and cabin safety, along with psychological tips on how to conquer fears.

Available from Amazon or via flyingwithoutfear.info, the book features questions compiled from numerous posts on the FWF website during its ten years in operation.

Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic president, described it as "great news" that they are able to offer this resource to the public on how to cope with flying.

He described FWF as a "wonderful team of experts who run the hugely successful Flying Without Fear course".

"More people than ever can now reap the rewards that the course and book offers those who have a fear of flying."

"Even though I don't have a fear of flying - I will be making sure that there is a copy of the book on my bookshelf," he added.

Richard Conway, FWF director, said that "people have been asking us for many years when we're going to write a book to help those who can't attend our courses".

"Many people who need our help live abroad and without being able to fly over to us, can't visit for the help that they need in order to overcome their fears of flying."

"With our brand new book, we'll be able to 'virtually' go to them," he added.

The Flying Without Fear course costs £199 and culminates with a short 45-minute flight for attendees to put their teaching into practice.
