Canada Zoom's into the UK next summer
Canadian carrier Zoom Airlines is to significantly increase the frequency of its services to the United Kingdom during summer 2009.
Zoom Airlines was first established in 2002 and now operates transatlantic services to 15 destinations with a fleet of five aircraft.
During summer 2009, it will introduce two new weekly direct flights from Toronto and Vancouver to Manchester Airport, alongside a weekly service from Vancouver to Glasgow Airport.
From May 2009, the airline will also introduce a new connection running between Ottawa and London Gatwick.
Zoom will also ramp up the frequency of services during the Easter holidays to offer more opportunities for people to take a break in either country.
The airline offers low-cost travel, but customers can choose between economy or premium seats on the plane.
All passengers are provided with a hot meal during the flight, alongside a snack just prior to landing.
However, passengers in premium sections also enjoy a more comfortable seat and a free selection of alcoholic beverages.
Hugh Boyle, chairman of Zoom Airlines, said that "we're delighted to be extending the range of flights available for 2009 and continuing our low-fare transatlantic revolution".
"The recent Which? consumer survey confirmed that customers preferred Zoom's service to that of our main competitors and we will continue to work hard to bring fantastic service at fantastic prices to customers in every market that we serve," he added.
Zoom has also expanded routes covering the United States, including a connection between London Gatwick and San Diego.
