Aer Arran offers summer discounts

Aer Arran offers summer discounts Irish regional airline Aer Arran has announced it is to offer discounted rates on its summer services between the UK and Ireland.

A 20 per cent discount is available for all passengers booking an Aer Arran flight between now and July 13th.

This includes the services between Kerry and Manchester Airport as well as the route servicing Edinburgh and Cork.

Also covered are the services running between Cardiff and Dublin, and Birmingham and Waterford.

The offer is valid for 250,000 seats across all 13 of Aer Arran's services for travel during the remainder of 2008.

Fergal Barry, commercial director at Aer Arann, said that "this deal is a fantastic opportunity to visit the Emerald Isle".

He said that there had been a "lot of talk about people deferring their summer holiday because of the credit crunch".

"But we're encouraging people to get away from the daily grind this summer and discover the 'real' Ireland without emptying their pockets."

"We are also lightening the load for customers by having no baggage charges or check-in fees on any flights," he added.

Aer Arran launched its first commercial flight in 1970 from Inishmore on the west coast of Ireland.

The airline now operates 600 flights per week to carry over one million passengers to domestic destinations as well as airports in the UK and Northern France.

In 2006, the operator was honoured for its excellence in customer service with a European regional airline award called the Palme D'Or .
